An installation of CentOS4.4 with VSTools rpm for RHEL4 installed has a constant load of 6. This load is coming from:
[root@testvds1 ~]# ps aux | grep D USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND root 316 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? D< 09:28 0:00 [dcm_hdlr_pt_0] root 317 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? D< 09:28 0:00 [dcm_hdlr_pt_1] root 318 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? D< 09:28 0:00 [dcm_hdlr_pt_2] root 319 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? D< 09:28 0:00 [dcm_hdlr_pt_3] root 320 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? D< 09:28 0:00 [dcm_hdlr_pt_4] root 321 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? D< 09:28 0:00 [dcm_hdlr_pt_5]
I think this are processes from the VSTools rpm. Can the load caused by these processes (and thus the D status in ps) be lowered?
