Virtualization separates physical resources from virtual servers, enabling a more flexible and agile data center. Capabilities such as virtual hardware devices and LiveMigration enable the following solutions:

LiveMaintenance automates the process of taking a physical server out of service for maintenance, such as replacing a fan that has failed, without impacting the virtual servers running on it. LiveMaintenance uses LiveMigrate to move virtual servers -- without stopping operating systems or applications -- to other nodes in the virtual data center.

LiveCapacity optimizes virtual server performance and data center utilization. It accomplishes this by rebalancing nodes by moving virtual servers when the node's CPU utilization is above an administrator-defined threshold.

Benefits:
- Manual service level agreement remediation
- Eliminate planned downtime due to hardware refresh or maintenance
