Wondering if the VI solution can work with an AoE solution like an array from Coraid: Coraid: AoE

We haven't yet tried to run this device.. I took a look at it and my guess is that it will likely work fine as a data disk for a VS (after installing the appropriate AoE drivers in the VS). These kind of network devices generally don't require any specific support in the Virtualization Services layer under the VS. For example, we've run some networked attached USB devices and they work fine.

However, without support for this in the Virtualization Layer, you couldn't boot a VS from one of these devices. That would require changes to the underlying Virt Layer.
