Hi,
Is RHEL (and other flavors of Linux) run on the VT hardware or does it still require the "special" paravirtualized versions of RHEL to run? TIA. --Mike |

All the OS's supported on VI run unmodified- no special paravirtualized kernel versions are needed. We make use of Intel/VT & AMDv for this capability. For full performance, we recommend installing the optional VS Tools package on the guest OS. This package includes device drivers to accelerate network & disk IO performance. We have VS Tools available for RedHat 4, SuSE SLES9, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003.
