Welcome to the Virtual Appliance Exchange. Enterprise software deployment now becomes as easy as downloading and running a virtual appliance.

How to run Virtual Appliances

1. Download a virtual appliance.
2. Copy the file virtual appliance VHD file into the "vdisks" directory on the Virtualization Manager server (usually located on Linux in /opt/VirtualIron/VirtualizationManager/vdisks)
3. Open the Virtualization Manager admin website and start the Virtualization Manager GUI.
4. In the Virtualization Manger GUI virtual disks section Create a logical volume large enough to accommodate the virtual appliance disk and then Import the VHD file into that particular logical volume.
5. Follow the instructions provided to create and run the virtual appliance.

How to contribute Virtual Appliances

To share your virtual appliances with the community, follow these steps:

1. Build an appliance by creating a virtual server using the Virtual Iron Virtualization Manager.
2. Once you have the operating system installed and the applications packaged, Export the virtual disks. Zip the virtual disks and place them in a publicly available download location.
3. Write instructions for how to install and configure the appliance.
