Hello,
How can one upgrade from version 3.1 to v3.5 without reinstalling and losing VMs already created? Version 3.5 comes with the administration manager which enables one to upgrade but v3.1 doesn't. Thanks in advance. |

Please follow these upgrade instructions:

Uncompress the zip file or explode the tar ball. 4. Go the the newly created Virtualiron-V3.5 folder 5. Run the update installer (upgrade_installer.bat for Windows and ./upgrade_installer.sh for Linux). 6. Provide the upgrade installer the path to your Virtual Iron 3.5 installation. 7. After the install is complete, start the Virtualization Manager. 8. Install the new Virtual Server Tools into each of your Virtual Servers. 9. Shutdown all Virtual Servers. 10. I have downloaded the iso image twice but it only shows 2 directories (BOOT & DATA).
I'm I doing something wrong? Didn't have this issue with downloading and installing v3.1. Please help!! Thanks |

If you have an existing Management Server/Managed node installation you should run the upgrade using the links to the .zip/.gz above. The iso image is for our new Single Server product, which actually should be burned to a CD as as bootable image using Roxio/Nero/ISO burner or cdrecorder on Linux. Boot this CD on the managed node (VT or AMD V capable) and you can install the Virtualization Manager and virtual servers on a single box. You will need another machine (laptop, desktop) with a Java enabled browser to run the VirtualizationManager ui.
