Virtual Iron Demos Latest Release at SAP SAPPHIRE '06 with Intel

LOWELL, MA, May 16, 2006 – Virtual Iron Software (www.virtualiron.com), a provider of software solutions for creating and managing virtual infrastructure in the data center, is participating at SAP SAPPHIRE ’06 in Orlando this week. The company is demonstrating the latest release of its advanced virtualization and management software with Intel Corp. at Booth #2974. SAPPHIRE opens today and runs through May 18th.

Virtual Iron recently announced Version 3.0 of its software, which combines its enterprise-class virtualization and management capabilities with the open source Xen hypervisor. With the release, Virtual Iron is the first to deliver native virtualization and simultaneous support for both 32 and 64-bit unmodified Linux and Windows operating systems and applications on Xen. The new release also takes full advantage of new hardware-assisted virtualization capabilities from Intel. As a result, users get better performance, streamline data center management and reduce operational costs while preserving investments in their existing software stack.

Virtual Iron recently secured strategic funding from SAP Ventures to close out its Series C financing round. SAP evaluated multiple virtualization approaches and solutions before deciding to invest in the company based on its vision and product capabilities.
