Mobius Selects Virtual Iron's Server Virtualization and Management Platform to Optimize Its Development, Testing and Staging Processes

Enterprise Archiving and Records Management Software Leader Looks to Increase Productivity and Reduce Server Procurement Costs and Related Power/Cooling Expenses with Virtual Iron

Lowell, MA, December 11, 2006 –
Virtual Iron Software (www.virtualiron.com), a provider of enterprise-class software solutions for server virtualization and virtual infrastructure management, today announced that Mobius Management Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MOBI) has selected Virtual Iron’s advanced virtualization and management platform to improve productivity in its software development, testing and staging processes while reducing both capital and operational expenses.

"Application development and testing is one of our most important business processes," said Mitchell Gross, president and CEO of Mobius Management Systems, Inc., a global provider of enterprise-archiving and records management software. "We must continually innovate to maintain our world-class capabilities. After a rigorous review of alternative offerings, we have chosen Virtual Iron to replace VMware for optimizing our software development, testing and staging processes. Virtual Iron's advanced capabilities and attractive price/value position will enable us to reduce server procurement costs and related power and cooling expenses while improving our team's productivity."

Mobius solutions for enterprise archiving and records management are used by leading organizations worldwide. The company was seeking a cost-effective virtualization solution that could support enterprise-class workloads. Mobius will use the new Virtual Iron 3.1 platform in its development, testing and staging environments where it will take advantage of the software’s ability to virtualize all areas of its development and test environment, including CPU, memory and I/O.

The company also expects to benefit from Virtual Iron’s other enterprise-class capabilities such as large memory support (up to 96 GB), large SMP capabilities (up to 8 CPUs simultaneously) and the ability to virtualize server platforms with up to 32 physical CPUs. The software takes full advantage of new hardware–assisted capabilities from AMD (AMD-V®) and Intel (Intel® VT) to deliver near native performance and simultaneous support for 32 and 64-bit unmodified Linux and Windows operating systems. It also delivers sophisticated virtual management and policy-based automation capabilities. Virtual Iron also requires no installation or management of software on physical servers, further simplifying installation and data center operations for Mobius.

“Mobius understands the benefits that virtualization technology can bring to its software development and testing efforts,” said John C. Thibault, President and CEO at Virtual Iron. “With our platform, Mobius gets all the enterprise-class capabilities and performance they need, for less than 20 percent of the cost of the competition. The price/value equation has never been better.”
