Virtual Iron Software Named in “10 Hottest Companies” List by Network World Magazine

Virtualization Company Named “Start-up to Watch”

ACTON , Mass., April 27, 2005 – When Network World published its annual list of 10 Start-ups to Watch - dynamic young companies with innovative technologies aimed at solving networking's toughest problems – Virtual Iron Software, Inc. was among the companies receiving the special recognition.

The list is part of Network World's special Signature Series edition, The Network World 200, which ranks the largest U.S. network companies by revenue, profits, growth, and other key financial measurements.   Drawing from a field of about 75 candidates, Network World editors handpicked the 10 Start-ups to Watch based on the strength of their technology and management team, and the depth of their financial backing.

" We selected Virtual Iron for our 2005 Start-ups to Watch list for its unique focus on the hot server virtualization market," said Beth Schultz, editor, Network World Signature Series. " We like that Virtual Iron is addressing a gap by building large, scalable symmetric multiprocessing servers from x86-based computers. "

“We are honored that a top publication like Network World recognizes the potential of our product, and our company,” said John Thibault, CEO of Virtual Iron Software. “This proves, yet again, the strong advocacy for Virtual Iron VFe, that it will solve real problems currently plaguing the enterprise network.”

The Network World 200 is one of six bimonthly issues providing insights, opinions, and information on the biggest trends shaping the networked world today. More information and analysis on the 10 Start-ups to Watch and the NW200 can be compared using the database on Network World online at www.nwfusion.com/nw200/2005 .
