Description: A minimal installation of CentOS 4.4 Server CD.
Last updated: Dec 22, 2006 Operating system: CentOS 4.4 Applications installed: None VSTools installed: Yes Size: 304 MB Primary account: Username: root Password: password License: GPL2 How to run this virtual appliance: 1. Download the virtual appliance and unzip it (304 MB). 2. Copy the file virtual appliance VHD file into the "vdisks" directory on the Virtualization Manager server (usually located on Linux in /opt/VirtualIron/vdisks) 3. Open the Virtualization Manager admin website and start the Virtualization Manager GUI. 4. In the Virtualization Manger GUI Create a logical volume large enough to accommodate the virtual appliance disk (this appliance is just over 1GB) and then Import the VHD file into that particular logical volume and call the imported virtual disk vDiskCentOS. 5. Create a new virtual machine called CentOS with the following configuration parameters:
b. Memory = 512 MB c. Network Adapter = 1 virtual network adapter d. Hard disks = 1 virtual disk file by assigning "vDiskCentOS" e. Set boot disk to "vDiskCentOS" 6. That's all there is. Turn on that VM and open the virtual console. Once the appliance starts login, and enjoy the CentOS appliance. Edited: 01/05/2007 at 04:30 PM by cbarclay |
