Solar New User Posts: 4 Joined: 02/26/2007	Hello, does anyone know the concept of LVGs and how they relate to Virtual Servers in VI. I created one LVG on a local drive, and created several vdisks without a problem. But when I try to assign them to different virtual servers, only the first virtual server created had the possibility to, as the vdisks don't appear in the availavle vdisks section when I try to assign them to other virtual servers. Also are there any tools to access the file system of the management server e.g winscp used to access esx servers? Thank you

cbarclay Fellow Posts: 216 Joined: 04/28/2006	It's a best practice to have a 1:1 mapping between virtual servers and logical volumes (you can have multiple logical volumes per logical volume group). For example, a Windows virtual server with C:, D:, and E: drives can have all three disks in one logical volume. The next virtual server you create should have another logical volume created for its disks. You can use winscp to access the management server as well (if you installed on Linux). The nodes do not have a filesystem, however.
