Virtual Iron Joins Blade.org to Support Enterprise-Class Virtualization Standards for Next-Generation Blade Servers
Data center virtualization software reduces cost and complexity of Linux applications on IBM BladeCenter Platform
Waltham, MA, and Lowell, MA - Feb. 9, 2006 – Virtual Iron Software (www.virtualiron.com), a provider of data center virtualization and management software solutions, today announced that it has joined Blade.org, an industry community around IBM’s BladeCenter® ecosystem. As part of Blade.org, Virtual Iron will help customers transform blade systems into virtualized pools of resources to dramatically improve operating efficiency and create a more flexible Linux infrastructure.
Blade.org is committed to guiding the development and innovation around blade technology. The organization enables BladeCenter ecosystem partners to test and interoperate their products on IBM’s BladeCenter. This development will drive innovations and a rapidly-growing community in Virtualization and other markets including, Voice over IP, industry specific solutions, security and many other technologies. The community - co-developed by IBM and Intel - is a collaborative organization committed to accelerating the expansion of solutions for the BladeCenter platform Other founding community members include Cisco, Citrix Systems, IBM, Intel Corporation, NetApp, Nortel, Novell and VMware.
