Steve Noyes, Vice President, Engineering

Noyes is a well-respected engineering manager with an exceptional track record of product delivery spanning multiple disciplines. Prior to joining Virtual Iron Software, Noyes was Vice President of Engineering at Equipe Communications where he led the development and delivery of its next-generation ATM/MPLS multi-service core switch specifically designed for large-scale service providers. The Equipe solution set a new standard in high availability system architecture that addresses the most serious software, hardware and element management system stability issues facing service providers. Prior to Equipe, he was Vice President of Engineering at Avid Technology where he led the engineering efforts to deliver high-performance, real-time video applications to the television and film industry. Earlier, Noyes worked for 14 years at Digital Equipment Corporation where he held a variety of positions, including: manager of the VMS operating system group, engineering leader for the first generation high-end Alpha 7000 server, and engineering manager for several generations of VAX 6000 servers. Noyes holds a BSEE and an MSCS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
