Job Description

Be a key member of Technical Support staff assisting customers and partners in the implementation, deployment and usage of a revolutionary server virtualization and virtual infrastructure software  product.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality, consistent support to customers.
  • Interface with customers and drive successful resolution of problems via the phone, web, and email.
  • Work to capture all information about customer product usage and experiences so it can be utilized to its maximum benefit (via internal & external knowledge databases, product documentation, and product requirements documents etc.).

Requirements:

  • A passion for ensuring customers are successful
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills in at least one of the following areas:
    • Storage
    • Networking
    • Performance
  • Minimum of 1-2 years hands-on Unix (and Linux preferably) and Windows Operating System experience (installing, administering, and providing enterprise support)
  • 3-5 years experience supporting production, mission critical data center infrastructure hardware and software
  • Individuals who are self motivated, flexible, team players
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and great communication skills

Preference will be given to candidates with combinations of the following experience and knowledge:

  • Extensive Networking knowledge (DHCP, TFTP, VLANs, 802.1Q)
  • Unix/Linux Servers (Linux certifications)
  • Microsoft Windows (Windows certifications)
  • Virtualization products (VMWare, Virtual Server, Xen)
  • SAN/NAS/iSCSI storage and switches (EMC, IBM, Brocade, McDATA)
  • Application Servers (BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, JBoss)
  • Relational Databases (Oracle, DB2, MySQL, etc.)
  • Data Center Management Products (Tivoli, UniCenter, OpenView)
  • Programming or scripting (Java, Python, Perl, Ruby)
