Virtual Iron Virtualization Manager

The Virtual Iron Virtualization Manager provides a central place for displaying, controlling and automating physical and virtual infrastructure. It utilizes an intuitive graphical user interface and provides a variety of advanced features including:

  • Physical hardware discovery, bare metal provisioning of Virtualization Services, and resource monitoring.
  • Virtual Infrastructure environment creation and hierarchy, visual status dashboards, access controls, performance statistics and event monitoring.
  • Virtual Server creation, configuration, management, deletion and LiveMigration™.
  • Policy-based automation including LiveCapacity™, LiveRecovery™, LiveMaintenance™ and custom policies.
  • Reports on physical and virtual resource utilization, jobs and system events.

These features streamline tasks that are normally highly manual and time-intensive to significantly reduce data center costs and complexity. For example:

  • Consolidating many physical servers through server partitioning.
  • Creating new virtual servers in minutes with designated CPU, memory and I/O.
  • Reducing the cost and complexity of business continuity.
  • Applying out of the box policies to automate data center operations.

The Virtualization Manager controls one or more virtualized nodes – servers with an Intel or AMD processor. It automatically discovers each physical server and deploys the Virtualization Services over the network to create Virtualized Infrastructure.
